Tyler Mac Cooney, born on November 9th 1976, in Fort Worth, Texas, passed away surrounded by the love of family and friends. Though his time here was far too short, the impact he made on those who knew him will be remembered for a lifetime.
Tyler was born to Michael Ray Cooney and Victoria Susan (Vikki) Cooney. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Ray Cooney; his nephew, Brooks William Cooney; his grandparents, Otis and Velma Cooney; his great-grandparents, Victor and Pallie McElyea; and his aunt and uncle, Jane and Bill Mobley.
He is lovingly survived by his mother, Victoria Susan (Vikki) Cooney; his brother, Chad Cooney and his wife, Chelsea; his sister, Ashley Cooney; His Aunt Sarah Schard; and his beloved niece and nephew, Avery Mae, Jack Michael and Henry Paul Cooney. He is also survived by many cherished cousins, including Will Ligon and his wife, Jenny; Wendy Day and her husband, Andy; Whitney McMullin and her husband, Kevin; Marcia Brickman and her husband, Mark; Sherri Wells and her husband, Doug; Jan Mobley; and numerous second cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will deeply miss him.
Tyler attended Midwestern State University, where he continued to develop the curiosity and hands-on spirit that defined his life. He was known as a true jack-of-all-trades, someone who could fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand. If someone needed advice, a repair, or simply a friend to listen, Tyler was only a phone call away. His kindness, loyalty, and generous heart touched countless lives.
A devoted dog lover, Tyler found peace in the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and joy in the companionship of his dogs. He appreciated the simple things in life, working with his hands, spending time with those he loved, and helping others whenever he could. His quiet strength, dependable nature, and genuine compassion made him someone people naturally turned to in times of need.
Tyler's greatest legacy is not found in awards or titles, but in the countless acts of kindness he shared throughout his life. He believed in showing up for others, offering whatever he had to give, and making people feel cared for. Those who knew him will remember his willingness to help without hesitation, his steady presence, and the lasting friendships he built through his selfless spirit.
A celebration of Tyler's life will be held at Southside Church of Christ Saturday July 11th at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory, celebrate his life, and find comfort in the many memories they shared.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Class or the Food Pantry at Southside Church of Christ, causes that reflect Tyler's caring heart and desire to help others.
Though Tyler's earthly journey has ended, his legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering friendship will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
