Timothy “Tim” Patrick Coleman, Jr., 44, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Round Rock, Texas, on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Born on July 26, 1981, at 11:55 p.m. in Lee Memorial Hospital in Marianna, Arkansas, Tim spent his early years in the delta regions of Arkansas and Mississippi, where the rich sounds of blues and gospel first shaped his love of music.
A chef and restaurant manager by trade, Tim, brought creativity, precision, and heart into every kitchen he stepped into. Outside of work, music was the fire that fueled him. Formed by the soulful traditions of his upbringing, he became a devoted fan of heavy metal–the groups Type O Negative, Smashing Pumpkins (esp. Billy Corgan), Ozzy Osbourne, and Dax Riggs among his greatest inspirations. He was most proud of performing with Mental Distortion at the Milwaukee Death Metal Fest in 2002 to a large audience of fellow metal heads.
Tim was an unrealized genius—a modern Renaissance man whose gifts defied easy description. He could craft a poem echoing the spirit of e.e. cummings and, moments later, deliver an off-the-cuff rap that left listeners stunned. A self-taught guitarist, he owned several instruments and poured countless hours into writing and playing. In recent months, he had begun collaborating with friends, updating his equipment, and composing new music. The haunting beauty of his voice rang through these final songs—honest pieces about truth, forgiveness, and the difficult reconciliation of past and present.
He will be missed deeply and remembered fiercely by those who loved him.
Tim was preceded in death by his sister, Stefanie Coleman. He is survived by his mother, Jan Gardner of Lubbock; his sister, Kim (Daniel) Garza, and nieces and nephews Gage, Jade, Ace, and Summer Garza of Arlington, Texas; his cousin and roommate, Bill Herring of Round Rock, Texas; cousin Beth Dickerson of Eustis, Florida; aunts Lola (Paul) Julian of Clarendon, Arkansas, and Nancy (Caron) Holton of Eustis, Florida; and uncle Bob (Diane) Jordan of Texas; cousins, Chase and Sarah Julian of Clarendon, Arkansas., along with many friends and extended family members whose lives he touched.
