Tien Trong Nguyen

October 2, 1947 — August 10, 2026

Tien Trong Nguyen, affectionately known as “Tiến Lùn” among his close friends, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2026, in Arlington, Texas, at the age of 78.

Tien was born and raised in Vietnam. He served his country during the Vietnam War before enduring five difficult years in a re-education camp after the war. He often shared memories of his time in service and the hardships he experienced during those years with his family and close friends. He and his beloved wife, Hue, would also reminisce about the difficult journey their families faced as they escaped to the South when communist forces took control of North Vietnam, as well as the many hardships their families endured in the years that followed.

In 1995, Tien immigrated to the United States with his family. He worked tirelessly to build a better life and provide for his family. He and Hue shared 42 years of marriage, beginning in 1984, and together they built a life centered on family, perseverance, and love.

Outside of work and family life, Tien found joy in the simple pleasures of caring for his home and garden. He lovingly tended to the family pear and jujube trees in the backyard, cared for his small herb garden, and nurtured the cantaloupe vines he had planted the previous year. When he was not working in the garden, he could often be found reading the newspaper, keeping up with current events and the world around him.

Tien will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Hue; his three children, Anh, Anne, and Chau; his granddaughter, Emma; and his many brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members in Pennsylvania, Vietnam, and beyond.

He will be remembered for his resilience through difficult times, his dedication to his family, and the quiet joys he found in everyday life. His stories, his love for his family, and the care he gave to his garden will remain cherished memories for all who knew him.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out, offered condolences, shared memories, and provided guidance and support during this difficult time. Your kindness and compassion have brought comfort to our family as we grieve the loss of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
