A Life Well Lived
With deep love and heartfelt remembrance, we honor the life of Thomas Lee Robertson "Robbie", who passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on April 5, 2025.
Robbie was born in Archer City, Texas, and lived a life rooted in purpose, faith, and unwavering dedication. Known for his incredible work ethic, he was one of the hardest-working men you could ever meet, sometimes juggling three jobs at once to provide for his family. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, he served honorably from 1960 to 1963. Following his time in the military, he built a successful career in the aerospace industry as a skilled airplane mechanic.
While serving at Perrin Air Force Base, Robbie met Mary Helen Green, the love of his life. Their committed love story spanned 64 years. In their later years, they cherished every day together. Mary and Robbie shared a loving bond, enjoying playing arcade games and slot machines. Robbie devoted himself wholeheartedly to fulfilling Mary's every want and need.
Robbie was a talented musician. He played the piano, drums, saxophone, flute, and clarinet and even formed his own band. His love for music ran deep, especially for the timeless sounds of big band. He held a special fondness for pieces like Clair de Lune and the works of Roger Williams and Burt Bacharach. When the kids were growing up, the sound of Dad playing the piano would often fill the house.
Robbie was a man of many talents, able to accomplish anything he set his mind to. One of his skills was leather working, and he created many beautiful items, including a stunning saddle. He also cherished moments at the golf range with his grandsons, finding joy in their company. Above all, Robbie loved spending time with his family, and the family made it a tradition to gather together for every holiday. He had a fondness for simple pleasures, enjoying his favorite Miracle Whip and peanut butter sandwiches, and never turning down a plate of deviled eggs.
Robbie is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Mary Helen Green Robertson and his parents, Burr Diaz "Zeke" Robertson and Thyra Singleton Robertson.
He is survived by his brother, Ted Robertson; son David Robertson, his spouse, Robert Anderson; daughter Vikki Stalcup and her husband Wade Stalcup; daughter Becca Kemp and her husband Kyle Kemp; grandchildren Nick Covey and his wife Kelsey; Lauren Terry and her husband Bobby; Lane Soos and his wife Christian; Zeke Kemp; Kaylee Null and her husband Jacob; Austin Kemp; 6 great grandchildren Ayden, Jaxson, Wyatt, Noah, Hunter, and Hudson; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Robbie will be remembered as one of the kindest men you could ever meet, with his bright blue eyes and the sweetest smile. He was a truly remarkable person, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Robbie's family would like to say a special thank you to their next-door neighbors Frankie Gonzalez and his wife Cecilia Cerrano. They were there for our parents in many ways and we will always be thankful.
