Susan Marie Alexander

Susan Alexander, beloved wife, mother, Mimi, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025—held in the same love she so freely gave throughout her life.

Born on January 3, 1958, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Susan lived a life filled with heart, humor, faith, and a whole lot of soccer. From the sidelines of countless games to quiet bedtime prayers, she gave everything she had to the people she loved. Her love was constant, fierce, and full of grace—and we, her children, are so proud to be hers.

She is survived by the love of her life, Alvin Alexander, her husband of 47 years. They met in 1979 at Midwestern State University, and from the very beginning, their story was one of deep connection and unwavering devotion. Their marriage was the kind most people only dream of—rooted in faith, laughter, friendship, and a bond that shaped not only their family, but everyone who knew them. They built a life and legacy together that continues to live on through their children and grandchildren.

Susan poured her heart into raising four children: Toby Alexander (wife Vanessa, children Jayden and Jaylena), April LaMarsh (husband Jonathan, children Matthew and Avery), Amber Alexander (wife Bella, children Caden, Kennedy, Jordyn, and Maverick), and Alexis Alexander (daughter Kalynne).

She was a proud and deeply adored Mimi to nine grandchildren—each one carrying a little piece of her magic, her love, and her spirit.

She is also survived by her sisters Kathy Holtzen, Linda Flynn, Melissa “Missy” Calub, and Brenda Klingbeil; and by her very best friend of over 50 years, Dianna Waldrum, who she spoke to every single day and loved like a sister.

In the Alexander family, soccer wasn’t just a sport—it was a way of life. And Susan was our fiercest supporter. Alvin, Toby, and Amber spent years playing and coaching, and she was there through it all—cheering loudly, lovingly yelling at the refs, and showing up with her signature fire. Even when she couldn’t be there in person, we always felt her presence with us on the field.

Susan had a rare and tender heart for people with special needs, especially those with Down syndrome. She often said their joy and unconditional love reminded her of God’s love—pure, honest, and boundless. It’s the same kind of love she offered so naturally to everyone around her.

But more than anything, Susan was about people. She didn’t just meet them—she truly saw them. Whether it was a stranger in the checkout line or someone she loved deeply, she had a way of making others feel known, valued, and loved. Her warmth, strength, and boundless compassion will forever be part of the legacy she leaves behind.

To be loved by Susan Alexander was to be wrapped in something sacred. While our hearts are broken by her absence, we are profoundly grateful for the time we had. Her love will echo in our lives forever.

In lieu of flowers, we ask for your support in helping us give Susan the peaceful and dignified celebration of life she so deeply deserves. Like many families, ours was not prepared for the sudden financial burden of funeral costs, as our parents did not have life insurance. As her children, we are doing everything we can, but we can’t do it alone.

If you feel led to help, a GoFundMe has been created to assist with funeral expenses: Susan Alexander Funeral Assistance Fund Any contribution—no matter the amount—would lift a significant burden from our shoulders and allow us to honor our mother the way she deserves. We are so thankful for the love and support from those who knew her and loved her.
