Arlington

Steven Gattorna entered into God’s eternal kingdom on November 3, 2025, at the age of 63. He was born on June 1, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, to Larry and Annette Gattorna. In second grade, Steve moved with his family to Niles, Illinois, where he met a close group of friends who would remain a cherished part of his life for decades to come.

As a child and young man, Steve found joy in playing baseball, listening to music, and performing on the electric guitar with his band, Contender. His passion for music endured throughout his life and became an expression of his faith when he began playing guitar in worship at his church, an outpouring of his deep love for the Lord.

In 1984, Steve met the love of his life, Pam. They were married on October 21, 1989, and together they built a beautiful life centered around faith, love, and family. Steve was a devoted husband and father who found great joy in supporting his children’s interests and cheering them on at countless games and events.

He cherished life’s simple pleasures: a good cup of coffee, cooking for his family, fishing, camping, and family board game nights. Proud of his Italian heritage, Steve delighted in decorating for the holidays, filling his home with warmth, laughter, and a spirit of celebration. A lifelong fan of baseball and football, he especially enjoyed sharing those passions with his family.

Steve will be remembered for his compassion, kindness, and quick sense of humor. He lived his faith daily and served as a shining example of Christ’s love to all who knew him.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Pam Gattorna; his daughter, Olivia Wallroff, and son-in-law Corey Wallroff, and their three children, Milo, and twin girls Alice and Edith; his son, Daniel Gattorna, and daughter-in-law Margo; his son, Samuel Gattorna; and his brother, John Gattorna, and sister-in-law Lori. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Annette Gattorna.

Steve’s legacy of love, laughter, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.” Psalm 100:4–5
