Shelly Frances Russell

Shelly Frances Fincannon Sopic Russell, 63, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025, in Roanoke, Texas. Born to Homer and Carol Fincannon, Shelly lived a full and vibrant life marked by her love for family, her adventurous spirit, and her passion for cars. 

An avid drag racer and car enthusiast, she found joy and purpose both behind the wheel and within the community that shared her love of racing. She will be remembered for her boundless energy, her resilience, and her ability to make those around her feel supported and loved. 

Shelly is survived by her parents, Homer and Carol Fincannon; her sons, Matthew and Marcus; and many extended family members and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 2pm at Wade Funeral Home in Arlington. The family invites all who knew and loved Shelly to join in celebrating her life.
