Sharon Marlene Ellis, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed peacefully on April 9, 2026, in Arlington, Texas, at the age of 80.
Born on January 24, 1946, in Corsicana, Texas, Sharon was the cherished daughter of Albert "Pap" Duke Watkins and Lillian Dorothy Bryant Watkins, both of whom preceded her in death. She grew up with a quiet strength and gentle spirit that would define her life and touch everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Sharon graduated from Blooming Grove High School and soon after began the life that meant the most to her was building a loving home and family. At a young age, she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Earl Ellis. Their marriage, which spanned 62 years, 5 months, and 9 days, was a testament to enduring love, devotion, and partnership. Bob was not only her husband but her greatest supporter, always caring for her with a tenderness that reflected the deep bond they shared.
Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family. Sharon was a dedicated homemaker and mother, pouring her heart into raising their two children, Randy Glen Ellis and Tammy Dawn Crowley (David Crowley, Jr.), who were truly the light of her life. Her love extended to her grandchildren; Zachary Robert Case (Lindsey Case), Jacob Andrew Crowley, and Carson Wade Crowley, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy. She was also blessed to see the next generation grow, welcoming her great-grandchildren, Jackson Tate Case and Leia Rose Perez, into the family she held so dear.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gary Winston Watkins. Though she faced life’s losses with quiet grace, she always remained deeply rooted in love and compassion.
Those who knew Sharon will remember her as incredibly sweet, humble, and deeply family oriented. She never sought attention or recognition, instead finding her greatest happiness in the simple, meaningful moments shared with loved ones. Her gentle presence, kind heart, and unwavering devotion created a home filled with warmth, comfort, and unconditional love.
Sharon’s legacy lives on in the family she cherished so completely. Her life was a beautiful reflection of love given freely, and she will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
Sharon will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Blooming Grove, Texas, where she will remain close to the community and roots that shaped her life.
