With profound love and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Sandra “Sandy” Gail Ovacik, who left us far too soon on August 3, 2025—10 days shy of her 55th birthday and 8 days before she and her beloved husband would have celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary. Surrounded by her family in Arlington, Texas, Sandy passed peacefully, leaving a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Born on August 13, 1970, in Galveston, Texas, to Johnnie Willis and Debbie Villemez, Sandy’s life was shaped by the warmth of the Texas sun and strong Texas roots. She grew up with a spirited nature, a generous heart, and a joyful energy that could light up any room. A proud graduate of Hamshire-Fannett High School, she carried her resilience, creativity, and love for life into everything she touched.
Sandy was the treasured wife of Sinan Ovacik, and together they built a home overflowing with laughter and unconditional love. A devoted mother to Hale Edlefsen (Jeff), Chase Stevenson, and Cameron Stevenson (Lauren), she poured her heart into nurturing her children, instilling in them her fierce loyalty, compassion, and unmistakable sense of humor. Yet of all her roles, the one she cherished most was “Gigi.”
Her five beloved grandchildren—Lyric (10), Luca (8), Chance (4), Jennings (3), and Blair (5 months)—were the center of her world. Sandy made every holiday magical, every birthday unforgettable, and every ordinary day a little more special. From Halloween trick-or-treating and Christmas cookies to thoughtful themed parties, she turned moments into memories her family will treasure forever.
Professionally, Sandy found success and fulfillment as both a loving homemaker and a passionate real estate investor. She had an extraordinary ability to see the hidden potential in old houses—just as she did in people—and poured love, effort, and creativity into transforming them. Her dedication and skill earned her the MobileFuse QFL Auditor of the Year award three times, a testament to her excellence and work ethic.
A constant presence in her children’s schools, Sandy gave freely of her time and talents through PTAs, volunteering with a smile, a kind word, and a loving presence. She lived with a generous heart, always ready to help, to create, and to make others feel seen and valued.
Sandy is also survived by her mother Debbie Villemez, brothers Jeremy Willis Ford and Danny Kendzierski, a large and loving extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, and her faithful dachshund, Jackson, who was never far from her side.
A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 9:30 AM at Wade Family Funeral Home. All who loved her are invited to gather in remembrance, laughter, and love to honor the beautiful spirit she shared so freely.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Metavivor in Sandy’s honor, continuing the fight against the cancer she faced with such bravery and the hope she carried in her heart.
