In Loving Memory of Rosaria (Rosa) Frustaci
August 24, 1952 – October 22, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosaria (Rosa) Frustaci of Burleson, Texas, who passed away on October 22, 2026 at the age of 74, surrounded by her family.
Rosa was born on August 24, 1952, in San Giovanni di Albi, Catanzaro, Italy, to Gennaro and Giovanna Nania. The eldest of four children, she grew up alongside her siblings who were also her best friends, the late John Nania, Maria Nicholl, and Teresa Nania (Dan Butler).
At the age of four, Rosa and her family immigrated to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where she grew up and formed lasting friendships and cherished memories.
At just 14 years old, Rosa met the love of her life, Salvatore Frustaci, in Calgary. Their youthful romance blossomed into a beautiful marriage spanning 58 years. Together, they built a life devoted to each other and their family. They eventually settled in Texas, where they spent the past 30 years, and where Rosa continued to build a loving life and form many dear friendships.
Rosa was a devoted mother to Mary Stephens and Ed White, Joanne Martin and Doug Martin, Carla Gelinas and Marc Gelinas, and Marco Frustaci.
She was a proud Nonna to Kayla and William Barnett, Christopher and Mattie Stephens, Kole Martin, Kyle Martin, Dylan and Valarie Stephens, Lane Martin, Domenic Gelinas, and Delano Gelinas.
She was also a cherished Nonnina to Liam Barnett, Lorenzo Barnett, and Rome Stephens, with another great-grandchild, Truett Stephens, soon to arrive.
Rosa is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews who adored her and held a special place in her heart. To many, she was more than an aunt; she was a second mother—someone they could always turn to for love, comfort, guidance, and a place to call home.
She was predeceased by her parents, Gennaro and Giovanna Nania; her in-laws, Rosario and Maria Frustaci; and her brother, John Nania.
Above all, Rosa treasured her family. She taught those around her to care for one another and stand together through good times and difficult ones.
To so many, she was simply Nonna. Not only to her own grandchildren, but to countless others welcomed into her life. Being Nonna was more than a title; it was who she was. She made everyone feel loved, cared for, and part of her family, whether related by blood or not.
Rosa never knew a stranger. She welcomed everyone with open arms. People were drawn to her warmth, kindness, and beautiful spirit, and she made everyone feel they belonged.
She expressed her affection through cooking and bringing people together. Her home was filled with the aromas of homemade food, laughter, and gatherings around the table. There was always enough food, room for one more, and a place where everyone felt welcome.
Rosa’s legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the traditions she created, and the values she passed down through generations. Her generosity, kindness, and devotion will continue to shape the lives of all who knew her.
Although her passing leaves an emptiness that will never truly be filled, her memory will remain in the stories told, the traditions carried forward, and the gatherings where her absence is felt but her spirit remains close.
Family and friends are welcome to attend the funeral service. The service will be held on Friday, October 30, at 10:00 AM at Wade Funeral Home.
Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
