In Loving Memory of Rosa Elena Benavides Fuentes
Rosa Elena Benavides Fuentes, age 69, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of unconditional love, laughter, and devotion to her family. She was born on November 25, 1956, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Tomas Benavides Nuding and Elena Romero de Benavides.
Rosa was the heart of her family and found her greatest joy in being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She shared a devoted marriage with her beloved husband, Federico Fuentes, and together they built a family rooted in love, faith, and unwavering support.
She was a proud and loving mother to Claudia Lunsford (Alvin Lunsford), Federico Fuentes Jr. (Maria Orozco Fuentes), Adrian Fuentes (Luvia Fuentes), Rosinne Jones-Fuentes (Edward Jones), and Celia McCall (Colin McCall). Rosa was preceded in death by her beloved son, Tomas Fuentes, whose memory she carried in her heart every day.
Her greatest treasures were her grandchildren: Claudia Vincent, Priscilla Rice, Joseph Wholey, Freddy Fuentes, Karla Fuentes, Kevin Cifuentes, Santiago Fuentes, Mark Fuentes, Marisol Jones, Edward "EJ" Jones Jr., and Angelo Jones. She was also blessed with five great grandchildren: Landon McKnight, Logan McKnight, Lillian McKnight, Abigail Rice, and John Rice, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.
Rosa will be remembered for her sweet spirit, wonderful sense of humor, and the love she freely gave to everyone around her. She had a remarkable ability to make others smile and always placed the needs of her family above her own. Whether preparing a meal, celebrating family milestones, or simply spending time with those she loved, Rosa created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished memories. Her life was a beautiful example of selfless love, and her greatest accomplishment was the family she nurtured.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love, strength, and kindness she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rosa's life at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, at Wade Funeral Home & Crematory.
Rosa's memory will forever remain a blessing, and her love will continue to guide her family for generations to come.
