Ronald "Ronnie" Dean Ward

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Dean Ward, 85, of Arlington, Texas, who left us peacefully on July 18, 2026. Born on August 17, 1940, in Tyler, Texas, Ronald was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose presence will be profoundly missed.

Ronnie is survived by his devoted wife, Tena Marie Moore Ward, who stood by his side through life's many adventures. Together, they forged a life rich in love, laughter, and cherished memories. He is also survived by his children, Byron Ward and his wife, Nancy Ward, and Marnie Mallen and her husband, Kevin Mallen. Ronald took great pride in his role as a grandfather to Corynn Ward, Andrew Ward, Fiona Mallen, and Chloe Mallen, who brought him immeasurable joy and fulfillment.

He was born to Ronald Byron and Lillian Chytil Ward and grew up alongside his sister Barbara Orosco. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Ward-who together shared countless childhood memories and experiences.

Ronnie earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Economics from Baylor University. He dedicated his professional life to the field of accounting, retiring as the Chief Financial Officer of Six Flags Over Texas, where he was respected and admired for his expertise and leadership.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Ronnie proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and was an active member of several organizations, including Ducks Unlimited and the Women Airforce Service Pilots. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for fishing, boating, hunting, and traveling, and he cherished each moment spent in the company of family and friends.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Ronald on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with a reception to follow. All who knew him are invited to join in celebrating his life, sharing stories, and remembering the joy he brought to those around him.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to The Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
