Ronald Allen Purnell, born on September 15, 1956, in Pomona, California, went to be with Jesus on July 21st, 2024. He is survived by his son, Tyler Purnell; daughter, Lauren Purnell Daggs and her husband Michael Daggs; significant other, Christina Sanders and daughter Danielle Sanders; sisters, Barbara Canada and Linda Bartlett; grandson, Matthew Daggs; and many nieces and nephews.
Ron was a humble, godly man who was known for his honesty, integrity, and most importantly, his ability to light up any room with his presence. He dedicated many years to growing his business, “Purnell’s Service,” where he found his purpose in helping others. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was playing a round of golf, snow skiing, water skiing, or even just sitting around a campfire with friends and family sharing laughs.
Ron found joy in his faith by attending church, participating in Bible studies, and meeting with friends to discuss their spiritual journeys and walk with Christ.
What Ron enjoyed most, though, was being a Grandpa, or “Grumpa,” as he called himself, to Matthew. Though their time together was short, there was a lifetime of love between the two.
Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate Ron’s life and share any and all memories. Ron’s celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:00 am, and the service and worship will be held at 10:00 am. The visitation and celebration of life will be held at Ron’s home church, Gospel City Church, at 2221 W Park Row Drive in Pantego, Texas. Let us honor and remember the vibrant soul that Ron was as we pay tribute to a life well-lived.
Rest in peace, Ron Purnell. Your legacy will forever shine brightly in the countless lives you’ve touched.
