Richard Ham

February 12, 1945 — December 27, 2024

Richard Albert Ham, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and devoted servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024 at the age of 79. Born on February 12, 1945, in Woodward, Oklahoma, Richard was the son of Floyd and Ethel Ham and grew up in a bustling household with 9 brothers and one sister. Richard found the love of his life, Karen, in Woodward and they were married on September 3, 1967. Richard and Karen shared 57 beautiful years together with many cherished memories.

Richard was a proud graduate of Woodward High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He devoted his professional life to the field of medical technology, making a meaningful impact in healthcare. Early in his career, Richard accepted a position at Wilbarger General Hospital in Vernon, Texas. There, he and his beloved wife, Karen, built a loving home and raised their four children. Together, they were faithful and dedicated members of the Wilbarger Street Church of Christ, where they established a strong Christian foundation that guided their family's life.

In 1992, Richard and Karen moved to Cleburne where Richard continued his career. He was an integral and devoted member of the Westhill Church of Christ. In 1999, they relocated to Arlington to be closer to their children and grandchildren. In Arlington, Richard and Karen became active members of the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ helping with the 49er's, participating in life groups and going on mission trips. He retired from USMD in Arlington in 2012.

Richard's greatest joy was his family. He spent his free time attending athletic events, dance recitals, band performances and theater productions to support his children and grandchildren. Richard and Karen's love for travel took them around the world, creating countless memories together and with family and friends..

A man of deep and unwavering faith, Richard considered his relationship with God the cornerstone of his life. One of his greatest honors was baptizing four of his eleven grandchildren, a testament to his enduring legacy of love, faith, and family.

Richard is survived by his wife, Karen, and their beloved children: Kim Hunt (John), Shawn Ham (Debra), Angie Moore (Jason), and Chad Ham (Heather). He was a proud grandfather to Austin Hunt (Kennedy), Brett Hunt (Kylie), Cara Corbin (Blake), Daphne Hunt, Clayton Ham (Laura), Carson Ham, Olivia Ham, Megan Lamb (Alex), Macy Hager (Michael), Ashley Ham, and Maddie Ham. He also leaves behind five cherished great-grandchildren: Rauiri Dean, Ivynn Dean, Landry Corbin, Beau Corbin, and Eloise Hunt.

Richard is also survived by his sister, Delores Sidders of West Monroe Louisiana, and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and treasured friends from Vernon, Cleburne, and Arlington.

Richard's life was a testament to his love for God, family, and community. His unwavering faith, dedication to his family, and kindhearted spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. He found joy in worship, family gatherings, and offering guidance to those he loved.
