Arlington - Richard “Dick” Francis Duly passed away on January 13, 2026, surrounded by loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, generosity, and joy that will live on within the hearts of all who knew him.
Dick was a passionate lover of sports and a lifelong fan, especially of football, hockey, and baseball. His love for the game went far beyond the television, he made it a personal mission to visit a baseball stadium wherever his travels took him, delighting in the atmosphere and camaraderie each stadium offered. A true Super Bowl enthusiast, Dick truly loved his annual trips to the Super Bowel venues with his sons and close friends. Though he never needed a ticket to attend the Super Bowl, Dick always made sure to be part of the experience. He loved being in the environment—soaking in the excitement, the conversations and the celebration that the Super Bowl atmosphere brought that made the event special to him.
Dick cherished traveling with his wife, Rose, and his brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Rhoda; particularly exploring Europe, national parks, historical sites, museums and cruising. Additionally, Dick loved visiting Las Vegas, where he enjoyed everything, the city had to offer, especially the poker table. A top-performing salesman, Dick earned numerous awards throughout his career, taking great pride in his work and the business, he built to provide for and care for his family.
Above all else, Dick was a devoted and involved father. He treasured the years he spent coaching Little League for his five sons, creating memories filled with laughter, teamwork, and unconditional love along with several championship teams. His heart was always centered on family. As a true transformational leader, Dick consistently put other's needs above his own, whether family or friends, making sure everyone around him were cared for and successful. Known for his endearing nicknames and warm spirit, Dick had a way of making everyone feel special and seen.
One of his most cherished journeys was a trip to Ireland in 1996 with his father and his son Rick, a memory that remained close to his heart. He also shared a special bond with his beloved furry best friend, Tilly, who brought him comfort and immense joy.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ella Duly, his parents-in-law, Ruth and Roy Hoffman, his son, Michael Duly, his brother, Thomas Duly, his sisters, Colleen Uthoff and Lorraine Holt, his brothers-in-law, Ron Hoffman and Bud Kemper.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Rosemary Duly, his sons, Rick Duly, Brian Duly (Michelle), Sean Duly (Cassandra), and David Duly (Xinh); his sister, Eileen Kincade, his grandchildren, James Haddock, Madison Duly, Michael John Duly, Ava Duly, Cadi Duly, Jacob Duly, Aidan Duly, and Emma Duly, and his great-grandchildren, Holly Haddock, Alora Kate, and James Brady Haddock. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews whom he truly loved.
