Phylis Marie Estes, 91, of Mansfield, Texas passed away September 17, 2026. She was born in Monahans, Texas on October 3, 1934 to parents, Phil and Virginia Tripp.
Phylis was a true role model. She was loving, generous, gracious, and inspiring. She had that rare ability to bring family together, make people feel welcome, and fill a room with laughter and warmth.
She was sophisticated and well-read, and humble. She had wisdom without arrogance, strength without harshness, and leadership that came naturally because people trusted and respected her. She showed, simply by the way she lived, what it means to care deeply for family, to lead with grace, and to make the lives of others better.
The world is a better place because Phylis was here, and our lives are better because we knew her. She will be deeply missed, but the love, laughter, and example she leaves behind will remain with all of us fortunate enough to have known her.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, James D. Estes Sr.
