Pedro Tejeda

Pedro "Pete" Tejeda, 75, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

Born on January 6, 1951, in Santa Barbara, California, to Felipe Guadalupe Tejeda and Guadalupe Gonzalez Tejeda, Pete was raised in Carpinteria, where he developed the strong work ethic, humility, and dedication that guided him throughout his life.

Pete proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a 100% disabled veteran. Following his military service, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

He built a respected career in medical imaging, specializing in the installation and service of CT scanners and MRI equipment. His technical expertise, professionalism, and commitment to excellence earned the admiration of colleagues and clients across the country.

Pete was the proud father of two sons, Nathan Pedro Tejeda (Shasta) and Darby Len Tejeda (Brandi). In 1988, he met Diane Smith Jones, and they were married on July 14, 1989. Together they shared 37 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and adventure. They enjoyed visiting Disney parks, taking cruises, and spending time together at the beach.

Pete lovingly embraced Diane's son, Ronnie Jones (Shari), as his own. Together, Pete and Diane found great joy in raising their granddaughter, Angelina, and in caring for their great-granddaughter, Aleia, during the last three years of Pete's life.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Guadalupe Tejeda, and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, George Duane Smith and Ida C. Smith.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane; his brothers, Fernando (Lorry), Albert (Deborah), and Jorge (Ann Margaret); his sons, Nathan and Darby; his stepson, Ronnie; his granddaughter, Angelina (Jagger); seven additional grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery this fall.

Pete will be remembered for his generous heart, steadfast character, and wonderful sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He touched countless lives through his kindness, integrity, and willingness to help others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Diane finds comfort in God's promises and looks forward to the day they will be reunited in the presence of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
