Patricia Ann Shelton
January 03, 1943 – August 19, 2025
Patricia Ann Shelton, of Arlington, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in McPherson, Kansas, the beloved daughter of Walter and Ruby Sorenson.
Patricia’s life was guided by deep love for her family and devotion to others. After earning her bachelor’s degree, she taught elementary grades for both the Kansas City, Kansas and Wichita School Districts, but found her greatest calling in being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. On December 29, 1963, in her hometown of McPherson, she married her college sweetheart, the love of her life, Bill Shelton. Together, they built a life filled with faith, laughter, and cherished memories.
Her proudest role was being “Mom” to her two daughters, Angela and Kimberly, whom she adored. Patricia’s love and guidance shaped their lives in countless ways. Later, her heart grew even fuller as “Grandma” to Cameron, Kennedy, Carson, and Connor Alsbrooks, who brought her immense joy and delight.
Patricia was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Arlington since 1985 and an active member of the Arlington Women’s Club since 1984, where she built lifelong friendships and shared her generous spirit with the community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ruby Sorenson. She leaves to treasure her memory, her husband of more than 61 years, Bill Shelton; her daughters, Angela Shelton and Kimberly Alsbrooks; her beloved grandchildren, Cameron, Kennedy, Carson, and Connor; and her brother, Robert Sorenson, along with extended family and many friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and warmth.
Patricia will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and the legacy of faith, care, and compassion she leaves behind.
