Patricia Moses

January 20, 1934 — August 3, 2025

It is with joy and much peace that we announce the passing of Patricia Anne “Pat” Moses on August 3, 2025 in Arlington, Texas. She died peacefully at the age of 91.

Pat was born in Queen City, Texas on January 20, 1934 to William P. and Christine Smith. The oldest of three children, she graduated from Queen City High School in 1951 and went on to attend East Texas State Teachers College where she graduated in 1954.

After graduating from ETSTC, Pat moved to Kingsville, Texas and began work as the librarian at Kingsville Junior High School. While living in Kingsville, she met William Lee Moses who was attending Texas A&I University. Bill was the love of Pat’s life and they were married on June 15, 1957.

After living in Houston, Texas and Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bill and Pat moved their family to Arlington, Texas in July 1969 where Pat accepted a position as the librarian at Arlington High School. She loved AHS and, true to her nature, ran the library like a finely-tuned machine. She made a lasting impact on countless numbers of her library aides and assistants, fellow educators and administrators before retiring in 1992.

Bill and Pat were active members at the North Davis Church of Christ (formerly known as Randol Mill Church of Christ). Pat had a deep love for the Church of Christ and especially the North Davis Church of Christ. She served there in many areas but especially loved teaching Bible class for 4-year olds which she did for more than 30 years. Pat was instrumental in starting the Sweet Expressions ministry, providing meals and receptions for families following the loss of a loved one. In their later years, Bill and Pat collected and sharpened every pencil in the North Davis worship center. It was a small way to serve, but it was important to them and they did it faithfully.

Pat endeared herself to those around her by serving them in many personal ways. She and Bill delivered countless Meals on Wheels to those in need. On many occasions, she opened her home to host friends, newcomers to North Davis, missionaries and summer interns. Pat was known to keep a personal stash of mad money that she freely gave to others whenever she saw the need. She served as a “friendly visitor” for Vitas Hospice for many years. She was an amazing pen-pal, sending hand-written sympathy cards, birthday cards and anniversary cards. Pat is remembered by many for her homemade “Pat Moses Bread” (or “Mom-Mom Bread” as her children and grandchildren knew it). There’s no telling how many loaves of bread she made to give to others and every loaf was a cherished gift.

Pat was an amazing wife and mother. Even though she worked full-time as a librarian, she found the time to come home and prepare a homemade dinner for her family almost every evening. She was also a wonderful grandmother and loved keeping her grandchildren whenever she could. Although she was too old to really get a chance to enjoy her great-grandchildren, nothing brought a smile to her face more than seeing them. She loved Christmas and passed that along to her children and grandchildren.

Pat and Bill played Bridge with the same group of friends for more than 40 years and also enjoyed their monthly 42 Club. They remained married for more than 66 years until Bill’s death on December 12, 2023; their love and commitment to each other were an inspiration to all who knew them.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband William Lee Moses and her parents, William and Christine Smith. She is survived by her daughter Lee Anne Robbins (husband Gary); sons Kevin Moses (wife Sandra) and David Moses (wife Juli); grandchildren Hilary Whatley (husband Houston), Hannah Klein (husband James), Hayden Moses (wife Phage), Amy Leonard (husband Sam), Wesley Robbins (wife Samantha), Emily Moses, Abby Firdauzi (husband Fendri), and Zach Moses; great-grandchildren Addison Whatley, Judson Whatley, Cameron Klein, Colton Klein, Indah Firdauzi, Rizky Firdauzi, Angunn Firdauzi, Khairi Firdauzi, Rimba Firdauzi and Embun Firdauzi; brothers Jerry Smith (wife Betty) and Bill Smith (wife Cheryl) and many nephews and nieces that Pat loved dearly.

There will be a reception/visitation for friends and family at the North Davis Church of Christ on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 1:00pm -3:00pm. At a later date, the family will have a private committal service at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery where Pat will be buried alongside Bill.

Pat’s children would especially like to thank the Reliant at Home caregivers who lovingly, patiently and faithfully cared for Pat after Bill died. To Cristal, Tionne, Tony, Caroline, Helen, Lois, Charlotte and many others, there aren’t enough words to thank you for the way you loved and cared for her.
