ARLINGTON -- Olivio B. "O.B." Gonzalez Jr., 67, beloved husband and godfather, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2012, in Arlington.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2021 New York Ave., Arlington, with Rev. Alfredo Barber celebrant. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m., at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Pallbearers: Frankie Shoemaker, Oscar Gonzalez Jr., Ramon Chavez, Andrew Velder, Dr. Robert Snow, Abel Galvan Jr.
O.B. was born on March 11, 1944, in Bishop to Olivio Gonzalez Sr. and Aurora Benavides Gonzalez. He grew up on a farm in Hamlin. A resident of Arlington for the past 47 years, he married Alma Galvan on June 23, 1984.
O.B. retired from General Motors after 40 years. He enjoyed antique cars, gardening and casinos.
O.B. was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: Wife, Alma Galvan Gonzalez of Arlington; brothers, Santiago Gonzalez, Lionel Gonzalez, Oscar Gonzalez, Thomas Gonzalez; sisters, Aurora Montoya, Jesusa Morales, Gregoria Romero, Guillermina Esparza; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Noe Galvan and Josie Galvan; uncle and aunt, Frank and Rebecca Shoemaker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
