Norris Darrell Bullard, a devoted husband and father, proud veteran and pillar of the Arlington community, passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 17, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born on January 5, 1938, in Loraine, Texas, to G.B. and Lena McCollum Bullard, Norris was raised in the Lamesa area. In 1956, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he honorably served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bon Homme Richard (CVA-31) and later at Naval Station Annapolis in Maryland.
Following his military service, Norris attended and graduated from Arlington State College. He went on to build a thriving career as a butcher and the proud owner of Bullard’s Meats, where he became a familiar and friendly face to many in Arlington during the 1960s and ’70s. Ever industrious and community-minded, he later transitioned into homebuilding and real estate—helping neighbors and newcomers alike find a place to call home.
Norris was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 50 years, where he served on the Board of Trustees and gave generously of his time and heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Don and Larry; and his beloved wife of more than 60 years, Cynthia Bullard, who passed away in 2021. He is survived by his two sons, Clint Bullard (Tricia) and Dirk Bullard.
A visitation will be held on Thursday morning, July 24, 2025, at Wade Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, followed by a procession to the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery for a graveside service at 1:30 p.m.
