Neita June Ferguson, born on June 18, 1931, lived a remarkable 93 years, 2 months, and 26 days. She peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on September 13, 2024, at 7:00 AM, embracing the eternal reunion with her Heavenly Father.
Neita first met her cherished husband, Billy Horton, in late 1946. After graduating from Fort Worth Polytechnic High School in 1947, the young couple married on August 1st of that same year, with Neita at just 16 and Billy 18. Their love story lasted 66 years, 1 month, and 26 days until Billy's passing on September 27, 2013. For nearly 11 years, Neita carried with her comforting belief that they would one day be together again.
She was preceded in death by her mother Ommye Ferguson, father Carl Ferguson, daughter Dana Pitts, husband Billy Horton, brother Neil Ferguson, and her beloved dog Desi. Neita is survived by her sister Dianne Chance, niece Keisha, and nephew Kraig.
She is also survived by her daughter Gwynne Hanna and her husband Gary, son Kelly Horton and his wife Veranika, granddaughter Brandie Aschmeyer and her husband Robert, grandson Doug Hanna and fiancée Sarah, and great-grandsons Parker and Dalton Aschmeyer, Robert Hanna, along with great-granddaughter Mia Hanna. Additionally, she leaves behind her adopted granddaughter Bianca Himmelein, her husband Frank, and great-grandson Collin, as well as another granddaughter and four grandsons.
Neita's legacy of love and devotion will be cherished by all who knew her.
