It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother, Nanci “Mutzie” Doran, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who passed away on July 26, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 81 years old.
Nanci’s true joy in life came from her family. She was a true pillar of strength, resilience and grace, and the heart and soul of our family. Her warm presence, infectious love for all her children and her brutal honesty of how she felt and thought, left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew her. Throughout her battle with cancer, she faced adversity with immense courage and a tenacious spirit. She selflessly dedicated herself to the well-being and happiness of those around her first, making every occasion and interaction memorable.
Thanksgiving was her favorite time of the year. She loved cooking and having her family all close to her. We have all learned to make the “secret gravy” recipe in her famous silver steel pot that will now be handed down for generations to come.
Her love for the game of golf brought her so much joy with her friends and family both on and off the course. Her heart and courage showed each time that she played, no matter what the lie or the hazard that was in front of her; nothing could defeat the joy the game always brought her.
Nanci is survived by her children: Kimberly (Cary) Clark, Sue (Bob) Blackwelder, Jim (Bridget) Frederick, Scott (Kelly) Frederick, Amy Rich, and Nanci’s partner, Ed Bailey. Grandchildren: Spencer (Addason) Roznos, Ryan and Katie Clark, Kaycee, Hannah and Madison Rich, Kayla (Zach) Rudd, Grace Frederick, Caroline, Nicholas, Jackson, Elam, and Knox Frederick; and Great Grandchildren: Regan and Jackson Roznos and Emerson Rudd. Her siblings: Suzie (Terry) Sullivan, JoJo (Mike) Baltes, Bob (Ann) Ferguson, and Patti (Tom) Reilly along with many nieces, nephews, and family friends. Predeceased by her parents, William & Catherine Ferguson, brothers Tony & Mike Ferguson and husband Michael Doran.

Nanci Doran touched the lives of so many through her kindness, grace, and unwavering love. She will be forever remembered as a devoted mother, doting grandmother and great-grandmother, and caring friend. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her soul find eternal peace and her memory live on in our hearts.
“Those we love do not go away; they walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed, and very dear.”
