Mary Elizabeth Wilson McEvers, born March 2, 1946, in Borger, Texas, passed away peacefully of natural causes on November 26, 2025, at the age of 79. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a treasured friend whose warmth and generosity touched everyone she met.
After many successful years as a mortgage loan officer, she retired to focus on her passion of antiquing and estate sales.
She is survived by her loving husband, Karl McEvers, with whom she shared over 45 years of joy, partnership, and companionship. Mary’s nurturing heart, outgoing personality, and caring spirit made her a constant source of comfort, laughter, and love for all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A woman of faith, Mary attended Rush Creek Church in Arlington, Texas. Her life was rich with family connections and meaningful relationships. She is also survived by her sisters, Judy Swepston and Paula Owen; her son, Jarrod Jackson, and his wife, Wendi; grandchildren Fisher Jackson, Wilson Jackson and fiancé Charlize Abshier, Preston Dutton, and wife Ashley Dutton; and her great-granddaughter, Hazel Dutton. She also leaves behind many dear friends, along with many others whose lives were brightened by her presence.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Wilson and Albert Wilson.
Mary graduated from McGregor High School. She was in the marching band and played the French horn. Mary enjoyed a life filled with adventure and simple joys, antiquing, traveling, gardening, flowers, classic country music (especially Willie Nelson), cruises, the mountains, and, most of all, time shared with her beloved family and friends. She loved attending Thanksgiving, Christmas and family gatherings at Nanny and Pawpaw’s house. Mary never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for making others feel seen and loved.
Mary’s legacy is one of kindness, love, and joyful connection. Her caring nature, bright spirit, and generous heart will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be part of her life. She will be greatly missed.
