ARLINGTON -- Marjorie Johnston Glass, 86, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2012.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Rd., Arlington. Interment: Parkdale Cemetery, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 3:30 p.m. and a vigil beginning at 4 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.

A member of a pioneer Arlington family, Marjorie was born in Arlington on September 11, 1925 where she grew up and graduated from Arlington High School. Her parents owned Johnston's Studio and Camera Shop for many years. Marjorie lived in many places across the country during her 68 years of marriage to her husband, Fred, ultimately returning to Arlington permanently.
She worked as Secretary to the Manager, Melvin Shanks, of Arlington Parks and Recreation Dept. until her retirement.
Marjorie and her husband Fred were active in St. Vincent de Paul from its' founding here in Arlington and served for years as Eucharistic Ministers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, on January 27 of this year.
Survivors: Marjorie is survived by son, Greg Glass of Houston; daughter, Susan Glass-Donelan and her husband, Clive Donelan of Arlington; grandson, Gray Strickland and wife, Corie Strickland of Euless; granddaughter, Katie Reed of Tahlequah, OK; great-granddaughters, Melody Reed and Trinity Reed; great-grandson, Gavin Strickland; and sisters, Gladys Jeter, Margaret Tolle and husband, Vern, and Charlene Miller.
