Marilyn (Pixie) Elizabeth Coles passed away on April 17, 2025, at the age of 72. She was born February 19, 1953 to the late King S. Coles and Evelyn Flood Coles in Lynchburg, Virginia, and was a proud graduate of E,C. Glass High School
Marilyn eventually made her home in Arlington, Texas where she became a cherished member of the community. She joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir. Marilyn later joined Grace UMC and was an active member of the Usher board and with the outreach program of the Arlington Life Shelter where she fed the homeless and was very proud to do so.
She devoted over 20 years at the Texas Workforce Commission, where her passion for helping others shines through. Marilyn took great pride in guiding individuals along their career paths, and her dedication left a meaningful and lasting impact on countless lives.
Beyond her professional life, Marilyn will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and ever-present smile. She had a nurturing nature and was always ready with a kind or thoughtful gesture. Marilyn found joy in simple pleasures - spending time in her yard and garden and creating beauty in her surroundings. She was also an avid bowler and a proud lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers, rarely missing a chance to cheer for her team.
She is survived by: her mother, Evelyn Flood Coles; her siblings: brothers Michael Coles, Gifford Coles, Mark Coles; sister Marleans Coles; nephews: Brian Coles (Brooklyn and Bronx), Jonathan Coles (Jai and Jet), and Chrisopher Coles (Kayleana and Khai)
Marilyn’s absence will be deeply felt, but her legacy and compassion, strength, and humor will live on in all who were fortunate to know her.
