Marguerite Ann Bruton

Marguerite Ann Durnin Bruton, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and faithful friend, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, in Arlington, Texas, at the age of 92. She was born on March 16, 1934, in Seneca Falls, New York, to Nicholas Patrick Durnin and Teresa Marie Bauman Durnin.

Marguerite lived a life rooted in faith, family, kindness, and generosity. She was a faithful Catholic woman whose love for God was reflected in the way she cared for others. Her faith was not simply something she professed, but something she lived each day through her compassion, patience, generosity, and willingness to offer her love to anyone who needed it.

Marguerite was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Richard Jesse Bruton. Together they built a family filled with love, memories, and devotion. She was a deeply loving mother to Richard Patrick Bruton and his wife Genie, Cindy Jordan and her husband Jim, Peter Bruton and his wife Denise, Marguerite Burton and her late husband Kenneth, and her late son Stephen Bruton.

Her greatest joy was her family. Marguerite leaves behind twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren, each of whom carries a part of her love and legacy. She cherished time spent with her family and friends and found great happiness simply in being together, visiting, sharing stories, and making memories.

Marguerite was also a beloved sister to Nicholas Durnin, Mary Amadon, Alice Martin, Joseph Durnin, Peter Durnin, and James Durnin. Her family was an important part of her life, and the love she shared with those around her will continue to live on through the generations.

In her quieter moments, Marguerite enjoyed reading, working on puzzles, and playing solitaire. She especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She had a gentle and caring nature and possessed a remarkable generosity of spirit. She had a special way of making people feel loved, welcomed, and cared for. When someone was in need, Marguerite was the kind of person who would give what she could, whether it was her time, her attention, a helping hand, or simply the comfort of her presence.

Those who knew Marguerite will remember her for her kindness, her loving heart, her unwavering faith, and the tenderness she showed to others. She gave so much of herself to the people she loved, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

As a faithful Catholic, Marguerite trusted in the promise of eternal life and now rests in the loving presence of God. We take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her beloved husband and with those family members who went before her, including her son Stephen and her son-in-law Kenneth. May she rest peacefully in the arms of our Lord, and may the Blessed Virgin Mary welcome her with the same tenderness and love that Marguerite so freely gave throughout her life.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we are grateful for the beautiful life Marguerite shared with us. Her love will continue through her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, and through every life she touched with her kindness.
