Lupe Galan

December 18, 1942 — May 7, 2026

Arlington

Lupe R. Galan, lovingly known to many simply as “Lupe,” entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family. Born on December 18, 1942, in Uvalde, she was the cherished daughter of Sisto Rodriguez and Julia Cardvajal Rodriguez.

In 1958, Lupe married the love of her life, Lupe F. Galan Jr., beginning a beautiful journey of faith, devotion, and unwavering love. Together they built a home rooted in Christian values, compassion, and service to others. Their marriage became a testimony of commitment, strength, and grace that blessed generations of family and friends.

Lupe dedicated her life to caring for those she loved and faithfully serving her church community. As a longtime member of La Roca Baptist Church, she joyfully sang in the choir and became known for her steadfast prayers and caring heart. No matter the circumstance, Lupe was always ready to offer comfort, encouragement, and a prayer for anyone in need.

Her favorite Scripture, Psalm 23, reflected the faith she carried daily in her heart: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

Lupe will be remembered for her warm smile, gentle wisdom, and the loving encouragement she shared so freely. Her home was always open to family and friends, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren always knew they could find comfort, prayer, and unconditional love in her presence.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Lupe F. Galan; her sons, Oscar Galan and wife Maria, and Robert Galan and wife Ignacia; her daughter-in-law, Rosa Galan; her sisters, Sulema Jimenez and Julia Cardenas; and her brother, Armando Rodriguez.

She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: James Galan and wife Mallory, Rachel Barboza and husband David, Robert Galan Jr. (Lizette), and Rene Galan; along with her treasured great-grandchildren: Rylen, Landon, Owen, Cayden, Addie, Nolan, Mateo, and Everly.

Lupe was preceded in death by her beloved son, Raynaldo Galan; her parents, Sisto and Julia Rodriguez; her sister, Isabel Hernandez; and her brothers, Sisto Rodriguez Jr., Antonio Rodriguez, Adolfo Rodriguez, and Alfredo Rodriguez.

Though her family deeply mourns her absence, they rejoice in the assurance that Lupe is now resting peacefully with her Savior. Her legacy of faith, kindness, prayer, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

“If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.” — Romans 14:8
