Lisa Ann Bonefas, 64, passed away in Oklahoma City, OK on April 24, 2026. She, along with her husband Bill Bonefas, are long time residents of Arlington, TX. She was born in Aurora, IL on October 6, 1961, to her parents Ronald and Mary Weirich.
Lisa graduated from Western Illinois University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She worked many years in Iowa, Illinois, and Texas as a special education teacher, before taking time off from teaching to raise her three children.
Lisa was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Arlington, Texas. Over the last 39 years she belonged to many of the church’s groups and ministries including the Women’s Guild, Choir, Prayer Shawl Ministry, and Religious Education. Lisa had a giving heart, always eager to help people. She served as a Girl Scout troop leader, and also ran the Girl Scout summer day camp for several years. She was a lover of people, pets, nature and life in general.
Survivors include husband: William Bonefas-Arlington, TX, children: Karl Bonefas-Englewood, CO, Laura Sahyouni (Adam)-Mansfield, TX, Katherine Bonefas (George Hundt)-Ithaca, NY, mother: Mary Weirich-North Aurora, IL and sister: Marie Weirich-Colleyville, TX. Lisa was proceeded in death by her father: Ronald Weirich.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at Wade Funeral Home, 4140 W Pioneer Pkwy, Arlington, Texas 76013 on Thursday, 6/11/26 from 4 PM to 8 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Friday 6/12/26 at 2:00 PM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W Pleasant Ridge Rd, Arlington, Texas 76016.
