Linda Kay Wallis, 79, was born August 9,1946 in Dallas, TX, and passed away on May 26, 2026, in Arlington, TX.
Linda grew up in Dallas, TX and graduated from Sunset High School in 1964. She started dating Kenneth Eugene ‘Gene’ Wallis her senior year. On February 19, 1965 the two were married and had 3 children together: Scott Eugene in 1967, Mark Ryan in 1971 and Shellie Kristine in 1972.
Linda was a stay-at-home mom until 1990 when she started working at Dilliard’s. She worked until her retirement in 2011.
Linda liked to stay busy. She was highly creative and had many hobbies over the years. She loved gardening and enjoyed spending time outdoors. She had an eye for decorating and sewed beautifully. She has donated hundreds of quilts to Cooks Children Hospital over the years as a member of her Stitches of Love quilting group.
Her Christian faith was very important to her and supporting her community through the church. She loved to volunteer her time and skills wherever she could.
Linda loved to travel. She went on several trips to visit her daughter’s family in Indiana, Italy and Michigan. She also fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling to Hawaii three times with her children. Through these trips her great love of animals grew to include sea turtles.
One of the great joys of her life was being Mimi to her three grandsons: Connor, Jackson and Ethan. She was extremely proud of all them and loved to share their lives with all her friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Luther LeGrant McDearmont and Ellen Ruth Greene McDearmont, her brother Thomas McDearmont and her son Scott Eugene Wallis.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Eugene Wallis; son, Mark Ryan Wallis; daughter, Shellie Kristine Aust and husband, Daniel and grandsons, Connor, Jackson and Ethan.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, June 6th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Barnabas United Methodist Church, 5011 W. Pleasant Ridge Rd. Arlington, TX 76016
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
