Linda Ruth Soehnge, 77, passed away peacefully at home on October 11, 2026, after a two-year journey with Alzheimer’s disease. In her final days she was surrounded by the family and friends who cared for her and loved her, and whom she loved right back.
Linda was born on December 18, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas, to James “Cotton” Goodman and Joyce (Brooks) Goodman. She grew up on a series of small ranches in the countryside around Fort Worth, and some of her happiest childhood days were spent with her beloved horse, Chili Pepper.
For most of her career, Linda worked as a marketing manager, first at Xerox and later at Hewlett-Packard. It was at HP that she met the love of her life, Bobby. But the work closest to her heart was her photography. As a photographic artist, she happily shared her work at regional art shows, including the Main Street Arts Festival in Fort Worth. Those who knew Linda knew she loved the color purple and was rarely without a piece of her signature jewelry, often bought from fellow artists she met at those same shows.
Linda and Bobby spent ten years in Atlanta before coming home to the Dallas–Fort Worth area to be closer to family. Linda loved her people deeply, and that included Bobby’s family, whom she welcomed and cherished as her very own.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind her loving husband, Bobby Soehnge; her brother, Jim “Bubba” Goodman; her dear friend, Angie Welch; and her sweet dogs, Preston and Rosie, who never left her side.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Linda’s life at a Service of Witness to the Resurrection at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Wade Funeral Home, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Texas 76013.
Please join the family afterward for a reception at the home of Frank Soehnge and Chris Kelly, 4411 Steeplechase Court, Arlington, Texas 76016.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations to the Alzheimer’s Association at Alzheimer's Association .
