Linda Marie Ranz Orbison

It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Linda Marie Ranz Orbison, who left this world peacefully on October 15, 2025, in Arlington, Texas, at the age of 77.

Born on February 23, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri, Linda brought light, laughter, and warmth into the world from the very beginning. She graduated from high school in Chanute, Kansas, and pursued further education through college courses, always remaining curious and eager to learn.

Throughout her life, Linda was known for her strong work ethic and compassionate spirit. She worked in a pharmacy for a number of years, where her attention to detail and care for others shone brightly. Later, she continued her commitment to serving the community through her work at Dallas MHMR, where she made a difference in the lives of many. Her kind heart and dedication made her a valuable presence in every workplace she touched.

Linda was the heart and soul of her family — a woman whose spunky spirit, radiant smile, and boundless love made her a constant source of strength and joy. Her children — Floyd R. Ellis Jr., Tamra Ellis, Gilbert V. Ellis, and Carol Ellis — were the center of her world. She raised them with unwavering devotion, guiding them through life with compassion, humor, and fierce loyalty.

As a grandmother to four beloved grandchildren, Linda poured her heart into every moment she spent with them offering the kind of love only a grandmother can give. Her family was her pride and joy, and her presence brought people together in the most meaningful ways.

Linda is survived by her brother Gilber Ranz and preceded in death by her loving siblings Anna Jabara and Gilda Holloway, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories, bonds, and the kind of love only siblings can know.

Those who knew Linda knew her as lively, kind, and wonderfully spunky. She had a quick wit, a contagious laugh, and a heart big enough to hold everyone close. Whether it was through a comforting word, a helping hand, or a shared laugh, she made those around her feel seen, valued, and deeply loved.

Linda’s legacy lives on in the family she so deeply cherished, in the lives she touched, and in the memories that will be held forever in the hearts of all who knew her.

A private family service will be held to celebrate her life, honoring the incredible woman she was — and always will be — to those who loved her.
