Lawrence Merrell Story

Lawrence Merrell Story, 91, died peacefully on August 14, 2026, with his daughters by his side.

Lawrence was born on December 5, 1934, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Allie and Lawrence Story. He was their only child and their pride and joy.

Lawrence attended Arlington State College and graduated from Texas Christian University in 1957.

In 1955, Lawrence married the love of his life, Anita Krantz. They were blessed with three daughters, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren during their 70-year marriage.

While attending college, Lawrence began working in the mailroom at First National Bank of Fort Worth. He remained with the same bank for 42 years, retiring as Vice President of the Trust Department. His entire family learned responsibility and perseverance while watching his strong work ethic throughout the years.

Anita and Lawrence were members of Sagamore Baptist Church. Lawrence served as Chairman of the Deacons and served on several Pulpit Committees. No man ever loved a church more.

Anita and Lawrence loved to travel, taking vacations every summer. As their family grew, every grandchild was taken to Colorado to experience the mountains that PawPaw loved so much. Later, cruises with family and friends were a regular occurrence.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters and their husbands, Jan and Ed Hall, Kay and Rusty Reeves, and Teri and Brooks Rudd; grandchildren, Tyler Reeves, Austin Reeves, Kaylea McClure, Josiah Hall, Katy Hall, Hayden Rudd, Landon Rudd, and Ashlyn Rudd; and nine great-grandchildren.

Lawrence was predeceased by his beloved wife, Anita, and grandson, Micah Hall.
