Laurie Gunn, 70, of Arlington, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2025. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and devoted friend.
Laurie was born on November 15, 1954, in Lake Worth, Texas. From an early age, she carried a deep love for family and faith, and her loved ones take comfort in knowing she is now resting in Heaven, reunited with those who went before her.
Growing up Laurie could be described as thoughtful, happy and fun-loving and often recounted stories of her adventures with her brothers at her grandparents’ home and with her best friend Kay. Later in life, Laurie built a career as a nail technician at Chere Amie, where she formed lasting friendships. She later worked as an attendant at The Ballpark in Arlington and at Grapevine State Park, but most recently she enjoyed retirement.
Beyond her work, Laurie’s greatest joy was her family. Laurie was a devoted wife to Clyde Gunn until his passing in 2024. She was a loving mother to Daniel Gunn and his wife, Melinda, and a proud grandmother to Megan and Dylan Gunn. She treasured the simple moments, spending time with family and dear friends.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Gunn, and his wife, Melinda; her grandchildren, Megan and Dylan Gunn; and her siblings, Bill Dean and his wife, Arlene, and Kenneth Dean and his wife, Monica. She is also remembered by many extended family members and friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lynton Dean Jr. and Mary Dean, her husband, Clyde, as well as other family and friends.
Laurie’s compassion, laughter, and unwavering love will never be forgotten. She was the truest definition of “lovely”. She gave the warmest hugs and had the cutest giggle, and she never missed an opportunity for either. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and joy that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
