Kristi Lea Klinger, 72, passed away surrounded by the love of her family and the many lives she touched throughout her lifetime. Born on February 25, 1954, Kristi was the daughter of John Earle Klinger and Wanda Marie Moore. She dedicated her life to caring for others through her family, friendships, and a remarkable 37-year career as a teacher with Arlington Independent School District.
Kristi earned her bachelor’s degree from University of Texas at Arlington and spent decades shaping the lives of countless students with patience, compassion, and humor. She was known not only as a teacher, but as a mentor and source of encouragement to everyone around her.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Shreves, and by her beloved granddaughter, Olivia Ross Shreves, who brought immense joy to her life. Kristi is also survived by her brothers, John Klinger, Gary Klinger, and Phillip Klinger. She was preceded in death by her son, John Ross Shreves.
Kristi will be remembered as an avid shopper, an animal lover, and truly a “mom to many.” She had a kind heart, a wonderful sense of humor, and a gift for listening that made everyone feel seen and valued. Her warmth, generosity, and ability to make people laugh left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 14th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wade Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Woods Chapel Baptist Church, 2424 California Lane, Arlington, Texas 76015.
Burial will follow at Johnson Station Cemetery.
Kristi’s legacy of love, laughter, compassion, and dedication to others will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, former students, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
