Kenneth “Ken” Gill, 81, of Arlington, Texas, passed away peacefully at home, on the morning of Wednesday, October 15, 2025, surrounded by love and comfort — with his family and loyal dog, Leah, faithfully by his side.
A visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Wade Family Funeral Home, Arlington, Texas. He will be laid to rest at 10am on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington, Texas.
Born in Houston, Texas, to Samuel Clois Gill and Nannie Lee (McCann) Gill, Ken grew up with a curious mind and a gift for creative problem-solving that carried through every part of his life.
Ken was blessed to share 54 years of marriage with his beautiful and loving wife, Barbara Jean Gill, who stood beside him through every season of life. Together, they built a home filled with love and faith, raising three wonderful children: Charles Gill, Steven Gill, and ShaReé Gill, who were the pride and joy of his life. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Hunter, Carissa, Garrett and Great granddaughter Anya.
A proud professional and lifelong learner, Ken worked as a Technical Writer for Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. from May 1967 until his retirement in January 2001. His attention to detail, calm wisdom, and logical approach made him both a respected colleague and a trusted friend.
Ken was known for his creativity, humor, and faith. A calm and thoughtful man, he approached life with quiet strength and grace. He found joy in traveling to Mexico, listening to live music, enjoying stand-up comedy, and serving with his parish family at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church. He believed deeply in living with compassion, laughter, and curiosity, and his warmth and steady presence will be remembered by all who knew him.
