Kenneth Ray
Champion
July 26, 1980 – February 19, 2026
Kenneth Ray “Kenny” Champion, 45, passed away unexpectedly on February 19, 2026, in Arlington, Texas.
Kenny was born on July 26, 1980, in Arlington, Texas, to James and Betty Sue Champion. He graduated from Martin High School in 1997.
Kenny spent much of his career working in freight, where he was known for his dependability and strong work ethic. Providing for his family was important to him, and he took pride in doing his job well.
Kenny was happiest when creating with his hands. He had a gift for woodworking and loved building desks, tables, benches, and fire pits — always making something useful or meaningful for his family and friends. He could fix almost anything — and if he couldn’t, he would take it apart to figure out how it worked.
Kenny also loved to cook. He found real joy in making food for the people he loved and was always excited for others to try something new he had prepared. He and his brothers especially enjoyed preparing meals for family gatherings, turning ordinary get-togethers into special occasions. Some of the most cherished memories of Kenny will be the evenings spent outside — gathered around a fire pit he built himself, music playing, talking, laughing, and sharing food with family and friends. Those simple moments meant everything to him.
Kenny never met a stranger. He had a servant’s heart and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He was funny, stubborn at times, occasionally frustrating — but deeply and fiercely loved.
Above all else, Kenny loved his family. His daughter, Gracie Champion, was his greatest pride and joy. He also took deep pride in caring for his parents and being someone they could depend on. Kenny absolutely loved his Granny — she was his world. No matter what she needed, he would drop everything to be there for her, spending time with her, tending her yard, and visiting Grandpa.
Kenny is survived by his daughter, Gracie Champion; his parents, James and Betty Sue Champion; his wife, Cheryl Champion; his brothers, James Steven Champion, Jerry Champion and wife Alison Champion, and twin brother Joseph Champion and wife Michelle Champion; his Granny, Joyce Champion; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation will be held on March 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Wade Funeral Home and Crematory in Arlington, Texas. Since this is only a visitation, the family will hold a memorial/celebration of life at a later date. The family welcomes flowers, but in lieu of flowers, donations for final expenses may be made directly to Wade Funeral Home, via GoFundMe, or through a member of the family.
Though his passing was sudden and far too soon, we rest in the promise that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and His grace will carry us through this valley.
