Kathy Lynn LaQuey was a woman whose life was defined by love, generosity, and an open heart. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcomed, seen, and at home. Hospitality wasn’t just something she practiced—it was who she was.
A devoted Christian, Kathy lived her faith daily through kindness, service, and compassion for others. She spent many meaningful years serving with Feed by Grace, where her heart for ministry truly shined. She also dedicated years to working with Kurdish refugees, offering support, friendship, and a sense of belonging to those starting new lives. Her compassion crossed cultures and circumstances, touching countless lives.
Whether teaching English, planning weddings and celebrations, or simply gathering people around her table, Kathy found joy in bringing people together and creating meaningful moments.
Kathy had a deep love for entertaining and cooking, and her home was often filled with laughter, good food, and cherished memories. She poured herself into every detail, making each occasion feel special and every guest feel like family.
Above all, Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She shared almost 57 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Lynn LaQuey—a partnership built on love, faith, and unwavering commitment.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Tony LaQuey and Courtney LaQuey; her sister, Mary Darby and brither Roy Lee Vaughan; and a wide circle of family and friends whose lives she touched so deeply.
Kathy’s legacy is one of warmth, grace, and connection. Her love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her spirit will forever be felt in every gathering filled with laughter, love, and open doors.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Mission Arlington Food Bank in honor of Kathy’s life, as a meaningful way to celebrate her compassion and support for others in need. Donations can be made at the link below:
