Karl Richard Gardner, a loving husband and father, passed away on July 11, 2025, at the age of 51. Born on June 18, 1974, in New London, Connecticut, to Judith and Carl Gardner. As a child, his father worked as a project engineer, enabling his family to travel the world and live overseas. In 1984, his family settled in Arlington, Texas where they joined a Methodist church, and Karl remained a life-long member of the Methodist community. Karl graduated from Lamar High School in 1992 where he met his wife, Jennifer. He furthered his education at the University of Texas at Arlington where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Karl and Jennifer married in December of 1996. Karl was a proud father to two wonderful children, Cole and Addison. Karl loved baseball, fishing, and traveling, but above all, his most favorite thing to do was spend time with his family and dogs.
Professionally, Karl thrived in the construction industry with a successful career of over 29 years. He worked as a talented home builder, dedicating his skills to creating spaces where families could build their own memories. His commitment to the community extended beyond his work; he volunteered as an umpire for Little League and generously supported initiatives such as the Arlington Life Shelter.
Karl was proceeded in death by his father, Carl Gardner, and step-father, Joseph Ludwig. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jennifer; his children, Cole and Addison; his mother, Judith Ludwig; his sister, Jennifer Richardson; and a wide circle of family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Karl’s life at Wade Family Funeral Home. The visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A graveside service will take place at Hawkins Cemetery on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
