Julie L. Klein

Julie Laverne Klein, 84, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on June 24, 2026. She was born on June 13, 1942, in Corsicana, Texas.

Julie was raised in Corsicana by her beloved grandmother, Nealie Perkins, while her father, Richard L. Perkins, faithfully served his country as a career member of the United States Navy. The values of kindness, respect, and compassion that shaped her early years remained evident throughout her life.

On July 13, 1984, Julie married Daniel "Dan" Klein in Bryan, Texas. Together they shared many happy years filled with love and devotion.

Julie was a woman of many talents and interests. A gifted pianist, she faithfully played piano for church services for many years, sharing her love of music with her congregation. She was also an accomplished artist and model. Her artwork was often featured in local newspapers, and she proudly exhibited her work at art shows throughout the Metroplex, earning recognition and numerous awards over the years. During her modeling career, she was invited to appear in the film Logan's Run, an opportunity she always remembered with appreciation.

She found great joy in gardening and had a special love for animals, especially cats, which held a special place in her heart throughout her life.

Julie dedicated much of her life to serving others. She generously supported Native American communities, particularly tribes in North and South Dakota, through her charitable giving. She also devoted countless hours crocheting hats and scarves for people experiencing homelessness, women's shelters, and individuals undergoing cancer treatment, quietly sharing warmth and comfort with those in need.

Known for her interest in the spiritual world, Julie was a gifted psychic who enjoyed participating in psychic fairs and sharing her abilities with others who sought guidance. At one point, she also assisted the Arlington Police Department with her unique gifts.

Those who knew Julie will remember her as a true lady—soft-spoken, gracious, and respectful. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone she met feel seen, valued, and important. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and quiet strength touched countless lives and will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Julie leaves behind her loving husband, Daniel "Dan" Klein; son, Johnny Harman and wife, Sandra; daughters, Becky Cogdell and husband, Steve, and Cinnamon Brandy Gilbert and husband, Spencer; grandchildren, Amanda, John Jr., Kenneth, Ravyn, Brielle, Spencer II, and bonus granddaughter, Shelby; and one great-granddaughter, Samarah.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Nealie Perkins; father, Richard L. "R.L." Perkins; and sister, Durinda Hall.

Private family funeral services will be held in accordance with the family's wishes.

Her legacy of love, faith, creativity, service, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
