Judy was born April 26th, 1947 in Stoneham, Massachusetts to Reverend Charles and Karla Schenck. Soon after, she moved with her parents and older brother, Charles III, to Beacon, NY. Here her family added sister Debby, brother Bradley, and sister Mary.
Growing up, Judy loved reading, missions, and family summer trips to the Adirondacks. In her 20s, Judy followed her family to Phoenix, Arizona, where they had moved several years before. It was in Phoenix that Judy became an RN and soon began working at Good Samaritan Hospital in the paralyzed unit.
On February 13th, 1977, she met her future husband, Don Fox, on a blind date. While he also worked at Good Samaritan as a neonatologist, the two had never met. Six months later they were married. The following fall, in 1978, they moved their young family to Evansville, Indiana. In Evansville, her family grew from son Aaron to include daughters Harmony and Honesty, and son John. After several happy years in Indiana, the family made a brief stop in Ohio before moving to Texas in 1983.
Judy was an early supporter of the Arlington Pregnancy Center (now the Metroplex Women’s Clinic), an organization that was very dear to her heart. Serving became her passion.
Judy loved singing, reading scripture, spending time with her grandkids, her “hunky” Texan husband, and telling as many people as she could about the love of Christ.
When Judy was diagnosed with cancer in November 2022, she had one goal: that everything would bring glory to God. She remained committed to telling everyone she could about the greatest love story ever told until her final days.
Judy passed peacefully on Saturday, April 25th, 45 minutes before her 79th birthday.
While we sorrow for what was lost, knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior brings joy and comfort.
Judy is survived by her sons John and Aaron Fox; daughter Harmony and husband Brian; daughter Honesty and husband JD; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
