Joshua Michael Henz

Joshua Michael Henz, age 32, was taken suddenly and unexpectedly on August 25, 2023.

He is survived by his parents, Tim & Cindy Henz, and his brother Richard. Josh leaves behind grandparents, aunts, uncles, and lots of cousins on the Anderle and Henz sides of the family.

Born and raised in Mansfield, Texas, Josh was employed by the City of Ft Worth, initially working for the Police Auto Pound and most recently Code Enforcement. Although Josh was very comfortable behind the wheel of large, powerful equipment, he was most at ease in the saddle of a horse wearing his favorite cowboy hat.

Josh was an active member of the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Posse, which is an all-volunteer organization serving as the Goodwill Ambassador’s for the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. The Posse is dedicated to preserving the western heritage of the Texas Sheriff and can be found representing the Sheriff’s office at ceremonial events, parades, and other community functions. Participation in this organization fit Josh like a well-worn western riding glove.

Josh was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He had a heart ten times bigger than himself and all who met Josh recognized this. Josh especially had a soft spot for horses and stray dogs and would quickly bond with both. Josh was a bit of a stray himself and was known to stop and lend a hand to a total stranger – he would generously do anything for anyone. It was fitting that he was surrounded by strangers and angels comforting and praying for him at the time of his death.

Services:
Visitation with the family will take place at Wade Funeral Home on September 5 from 6-8pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10am September 6th at St. Jude’s Catholic Church of Mansfield (500 E Dallas St, Mansfield, TX 76063) followed by a graveside service at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington.
Food and fellowship will be available after the graveside service at St. Jude in Mansfield.
