John Wesley Ford, 76, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on June 10, 2026, after a long illness.

John was born on September 9, 1949, in Fort Worth, Texas, to John Henry Ford and Barbara Janette Ford. He grew up in Arlington, Texas, a community he proudly called home throughout much of his life.

In 1968, John joined the United States Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California, during the Vietnam War. He served honorably and was discharged in 1971. Following his military service, John pursued a variety of careers, including landscaping, professional hairstyling, and truck driving, eventually owning and operating his own trucking business. After retirement, he continued serving his community as a part-time Uber driver.

John was a devoted Christian whose faith in God guided his life. He was known for his forgiving spirit, compassionate heart, and unwavering dedication to his family. He faithfully took his children and grandchildren to church and found great joy in sharing his faith with those he loved. Family was the center of John's world, and every family gathering became a cherished occasion filled with laughter, stories, and togetherness.

John is survived by his loving wife, Vickie Powell; his children, Neely Ford and husband Lonnie Allen, Jenny Ford, and Elliot Estep and wife Krista; his grandchildren, Chandler Ford and wife Lexi, Austin Jezek, Shannon Isabella Batista, Mariah Stahla, Maddie Ford, Brooklyn McBride and partner Alv Best, Mya Ford, Easton Ford, and Terrance "TJ" Ford; his great-grandchildren, Hayden Jezek, Eviana Bush, Elani Bush, Bear Stahla, Stetson Stahla, Violet Estep, and Elijah Estep; his brother, Paul Ford and wife Lisa; his sisters, Rhonda Janette Fox and Louann Miller; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Ford and Barbara Janette Ford; his daughter, Shannon Ford; his son, John Henry Ford; and his brother, Robert "Bobby" Ford.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Pkwy., Arlington, Texas 76013. A reception will follow at the home of Sherry & Nelson Barton, 3306 Steeplewood Trail, Arlington Texas.

John's kindness, faith, sense of humor, and deep love for his family will be remembered always. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and, in the family, he cherished so dearly.
