John Bradley Berven

May 3, 1961 — May 16, 2021

John Bradley (Brad) Berven passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife and family, after a long battle with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer on May 16th, 2021. Brad had just celebrated his 60th birthday. He passed in his sleep, with his wife and family at his side. A Celebration of Life Service was held at his parent's church – Shepherd of Life – on May 19th, 2021. His ashes will be interred in the memorial garden there in the near future. A Celebration of Life memorial will be held for his wide group of friends, family and co-workers at Acre Distillery, 1309 Calhoun St, Downtown Fort Worth on Sunday June 27th, 2021, (3pm – 5pm). Brad was the first child of Marlene Bolstad Berven and John Berven, born on May 3rd, 1961. He grew up in Watertown, SD and graduated college from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD with degrees in business and computer science. Brad was married to his wife, Kimberly, for over ten years. They have three wonderful fur children – Maggie, Ernest, and Gunny. Brad ran a small medical billing company with his father, and most recently was a Distiller at Acre Distillery in Fort Worth, TX for the last six years. Brad was very involved as a founding member of the Knights of the Brown Bottle Homebrew Club, as well as recently serving as director for the Bluebonnet Brew Off – the largest homebrew competition in the country. He was interested in restoring older cars, and hobbies included woodworking and stained glass projects. Brad and Kimberly loved traveling, and enjoyed many incredible trips to Disney World, Hawaii, Ohio, Massachusetts, and all over Italy & Europe. Brad was a kind, loving, witty, generous, intelligent soul, who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Brad has been survived by his wife, Kimberly; his parents John & Marlene Berven; his sister, Mary DeWeese; and his nieces, Savanna (Wesley) Liao and Summer DeWeese. Forever in our hearts and minds.
