Joan Caroline Conroy

Joan Caroline Conroy was born on July 15, 1944, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Robert Waterman and Marion Riese. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Joan will be remembered for the love, warmth, and joy she brought to the lives of those around her.

Joan attended the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. She devoted much of her life to caring for her family as a homemaker, taking great pride in creating a loving home and being there for the people she loved most. She shared her life with her beloved husband, John C. Conroy, and together they built a family filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.

Joan was the proud mother of Scott (Maribel) Conroy, Steve (Tootie) Conroy, Katherine (John) Reagor, and Daniel (Kumiko) Conroy. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother to Caleb (Mary Beth) Reagor, Ryan Reagor, Natalia Conroy, Carson Conroy, Cassidy Conroy, Emma Conroy, and Toma Conroy, and a great-grandmother to Lilly Reagor. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every opportunity to spend as much time with them as possible.

Joan had a creative and adventurous spirit. She enjoyed participating in her art group and was an excellent watercolorist, expressing her creativity through beautiful works of art. She also ran a book club, sharing her love of reading and fellowship with others. Joan was known as an exceptional trip planner, always bringing enthusiasm and thoughtfulness to the adventures she shared with family and friends.

Those who knew Joan would undoubtedly describe her as the best mother and grandmother ever. She had a gift for making people feel loved and cared for, and her presence brought comfort, laughter, and happiness to those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through her family and the many lives she touched.

Joan is survived by her loving husband, John C. Conroy; her children, Scott (Maribel) Conroy, Steve (Tootie) Conroy, Katherine (John) Reagor, and Daniel (Kumiko) Conroy; her grandchildren, Caleb (Mary Beth) Reagor, Ryan Reagor, Natalia Conroy, Carson Conroy, Cassidy Conroy, Emma Conroy, and Toma Conroy; her great-granddaughter, Lilly Reagor; and her sister, Jean Lade. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
