Jeffrey Allen Barnes

Jeffrey Allen Barnes, 55, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on August 18, 2024. Born on June 17, 1969, in Fort Worth, Texas, Jeff was known for his vibrant spirit, infectious humor, and profound generosity. A devoted father, he took immense pride in his daughters, Julia Hudgins and Madeline Barnes, celebrating their achievements and nurturing their lives with love and wisdom.

Jeff’s journey was marked by his remarkable recovery and dedication to helping others. A recovered addict for the last eight years, he played a significant role in the Narcotics Anonymous program, where he mentored and supported countless individuals in their recovery journeys. His selfless acts were a testament to his character, always aiming to give back without seeking recognition. His Christian faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him strength and solace, and he is fondly remembered as a true believer who lived his faith through his actions.

He is survived by his daughters, Julia Hudgins and husband McKade, and Madeline Barnes; his father William Barnes; his mother Patsy Barnes; his sister Rachel Schur and husband Brad; his brothers Christopher Barnes and wife Rita, and William Barnes and wife Mely; his aunt Donna Wells; and his cousin and honorary brother Jamie Harris and wife Sandra. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Mallory, Jude, Joely, and Chet, along with numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents VM and Juanita Melton, and his aunt Barbara Melton.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 5-7 pm at Good Karma Cigar Bar, 7014 East Weatherford Street, Fort Worth, Texas. The Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 2-5 pm at Wade Funeral Home, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Texas, with burial to follow at Old Gordon Cemetery, 808 Cemetery Road, Gordon, Texas. Jeff’s life and legacy will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him, and his spirit will continue to inspire those he touched.
