Obituary

Jane Orlean Wallace, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted servant of both faith and family, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, at the remarkable age of 100. Born on August 23, 1925, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jane lived a full and vibrant life marked by love, laughter, service, and unwavering faith in God.

Jane was a devout Christian who grew up going to church and carried her faith throughout her life. She was deeply involved in her church, serving faithfully in the Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF) at First Christian Church-Arlington, where she also held leadership roles including Elder Emeritus. Her faith was reflected not only in her service, but in the way she treated others, with compassion, grace, and kindness. Jane truly never had a bad thing to say about anyone.

Known for her warm hugs, infectious laugh, and gentle humor, Jane loved people and had a special gift for making others smile. She enjoyed telling jokes, entertaining family and friends, and making sure everyone felt welcome and was well fed! She cherished Thursday night family dinners for over 25 years. Holidays and birthdays were always celebrated together, filled with joy, food, and laughter.

Jane had many hobbies and interests that brought her joy, including bridge, Mah Jong, square dancing, crocheting, games, clowning, and visits to casinos. She loved teaching and playing bridge, and crafting thoughtful gifts. Those who knew her will always remember the scent of her signature White Diamonds perfume, the songs she loved, “He Lives,” “How Great Thou Art,” and music by Gene Autry.

Jane met the love of her life, Charles Wallace, at a dance hall, and the two shared a lifetime of adventure together. They traveled extensively, both as part of their Air Force journey, including stints in Alaska and Korea, and they traveled with the family , creating memories that will be treasured forever.

She was fiercely devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. She delighted in sending them clothing and thoughtful gifts, and she lovingly mailed care packages to her son, Steve, while he served in the military.

Professionally, Jane served with dedication as a civil service secretary to a base commander, a role she took great pride in and performed with excellence.

Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles Wallace; parents, Joe Nutty and Norean Johnson; two siblings, Jean Nutty and June Keenan; and three sons, Larry Wallace, Steven Wallace and Michael Wallace, and daughter in law, Betty Wallace. She is survived by two siblings, Joe Jennings and Jeanine Smith; two children, Tom (Marsha) Wallace, and Nancy (Willie) Redmon; two daughters in law, Barbara Wallace and Joan Wallace; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom will forever cherish her legacy of faith, love, humor, and selfless devotion.

Jane Orlean Wallace leaves behind a life well lived and a family deeply blessed by her presence. Her love, laughter, hugs and faith will continue to guide and comfort all who were fortunate enough to know her.
