James Tracy Hubbard was born on April 9, 1951 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to James Merrick Hubbard and Gladys Lorraine (Sterling) Hubbard. He was the older brother to William Hubbard.
After a couple of years at the University of New Mexico, he spent the next 50 years working in banking and financial institutions. Many people didn't know he was in and out of the New Mexico State Prison a couple of times. Yes...he loved playing on a semi-pro baseball team that got to play the prison team with all the inmates cheering for his team.
As much as Jim loved packing up the family (wife of 51 years - Karen, and their rescue dogs) and going to cabins in the mountains to hike and fish and boat, he found his most joy within their church. He loved the many men's breakfasts, conferences, and even leading some Bible study groups in their home for several years earlier in their marriage. Later years found him being in Better Man groups and a wonderful Connect Group.
Jim went to heaven on January 18, 2026 after a 3 year battle with angiosarcoma. He was so loved by family and friends throughout his life and appreciated the time they spent visiting him, calling him, texting him, and the constant sharing of scripture. He was looking forward to seeing his Lord, Jesus Christ, and catching up with the friends and family there to meet him.
Heaven
Think of stepping on shore, and finding it Heaven!
Of taking hold of a hand, and finding it God's hand.
Of breathing new air, and finding it celestial air.
Of feeling invigorated, and finding it immortality.
Of passing from storm to tempest to an unbroken calm.
Of waking up, and finding it Home.
