James Randall Dearing

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James Randall (Randy) Dearing, who entered heaven on April 20, 2026, at the age of 68. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, on May 1, 1957, Randy was a man whose kindness and generous spirit touched everyone who knew him.

Randy was a skilled Journeyman Electrician who dedicated many years to his career, earning the deep respect of his peers in the industry. In his younger years he was an extremely talented athlete proudly wearing the #23 Vikings football jersey and known by friends as “THE" Rock Star Running Back.

More than his professional or athletic achievements, Randy’s heart belonged to his family and friends. He was a devoted father and grandfather, happiest when his home was full. Whether he was cheering on his grandkids or manning the grill for a backyard BBQ, he had a unique way of making everyone feel like family. We will forever remember him at his happiest with a spatula in hand and a yard full of laughter.

Randy is survived by his loving children: Chase (Nicole) Dearing, Cody (Caitlin) Dearing, Kelsey (Gabe) Stuckey along with their mother, Laura Dearing; Randy’s mother, Priscilla Johnson; brother, Tom (Stacie) Dearing; sister, Donna Dearing; and stepbrother, Roger (Javana) Langley. He was the proud "Pop" to his ten grandchildren: Braden, Carter, Tyler, Miles, Max, Rider, Archer, Olive, Bridger and Coulter. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennie Dearing and step-father, Roger Johnson.

A memorial service to celebrate Randy’s life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2026, at Fellowship of the Parks Church, 1901 Hall Johnson Rd., Grapevine, Texas 76051.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Randy’s honor can be given to Celebrate Recovery
