Jim Clinton Cornish Sr. passed peacefully from his earthly home in Arlington, Texas at the age of 93 July 8, 2024. Jim was born in Houston, Texas September 24, 1930 to Murl C. Cornish and Ever M. Cornish.
The family soon moved to Fort Worth, Texas where his Dad went to work for Ken Davis industries. He attended high school at Arlington Heights where he played football and married Peggy Jean Terry soon after graduating. He also attended The University of Texas Austin where he completed his associate’s in business and completed his bachelor’s degree at LeTourneau University, Longview, Texas.
His business career began owning two service stations in Fort Worth for several years before founding Cornish Medical Electronics selling physical therapy and sports medicine equipment for over thirty-five years which he provided services for many hospitals, physical therapist, physicians, high schools, colleges and professional sports teams in Texas including the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He also loved ballroom dancing and continued dancing late into 2022.
Jim was a proud sixty year member of the of the Fort Worth Masonic Lodge #148 A.F. & A.M. in Fort Worth and the Moslah Shriners. He enjoyed playing Santa for all the family children and in orphanages for over 30 years. He was a resident of the Texas Masonic Retirement Center and a vice president of the TMRC Shrine Club.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents Murl and Ever as well as his brother Alan B. Cornish. He is survived by his son Jim Clinton Cornish, Jr. and wife Tammy E. Cornish, grandson James Clinton Cornish, III, daughter Mary Evelyn Davis and Husband Lonnie Davis, sons Jimmy and Kenny Davis, Cousin Bill Greenwood and wife Marley Greenwood in West Columbia, Texas.
He will surely be missed by all whom lives were touched by him and for being the father he didn’t have to be.
